Honeycomb Bee Hive by Katy Leitch

Paint all parts of the Tando house kit (the kit has three houses, I used just one for this project) with white gesso to seal it.
Use modelling paste through the Honeycomb stencil randomly onto the front part of the house. When dry, paint yellow.
Dry brush orange paint onto the texture then highlight with Metallic Lustre in gold.
Stick corrugated card to the roof pieces and trim to fit. Paint the roof and stand red on top and brown on the edges.
Colour a piece of card with orange paint then stamp the honeycomb with brown ink. Use the second impression in places.
On another card piece, stamp the honeycomb again in permanent ink and colour with dye inks. Cut out portions of the honeycomb and layer onto the background from step 5. Also glue some pieces to the base.
For each bee, stamp three times, twice onto card and once onto vellum. Cut out one whole bee from card, the wings only from the vellum and the body only from the second card image. Ink the bee's body then layer the pieces as shown. Repeat to make three bees.
Paint the bookplate orange and stipple with yellow paint to distress. Stamp the greeting onto a scrap of inked card and cut to fit the bookplate.
Distress all pieces with brown ink to the edges. Assemble everything as shown. When gluing the bees, glue just the bodies so the wings retain some dimension.
