Polka Dot Mushrooms by Louise Healy

  1. Fold a 6" x 9 1/4" piece of darker green cardstock in half to form an A6 card.
  2. Tape the stencil to a 2 3/4" x 3 3/4" piece of patterned cardstock with removable tape.
  3. Use a palette knife and paste spreader to apply Translucent Embossing Paste over the stencil, remove the stencil and place in water for cleaning, let the paste dry very thoroughly, it will dry with a clear, glossy finish.
  4. Swipe the forest moss ink pad directly over the dry image, use a 1/2" stencil brush to move the ink into the small background areas, repeat until the whole background is covered with the ink.
  5. Dip part of a paper towel in a small amount of water and squeeze out any extra, distributing it into the rest of the paper towel until the whole paper towel is just barely damp.
  6. Carefully wipe the ink off the paste area only of the design to reveal the patterned paper under the paste, keep moving to a clean area of the paper towel.
  7. Adhere the mushrooms to a 3" x 4" mat of Shabby Shutters cardstock.
  8. Adhere a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of matching patterned paper to a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" mat of Shabby Shutters cardstock, then adhere these to the front of the card.
  9. Use foam tape to attach the mushroom layer.
