Vertical Hearts by Louise Healy


  1. Score a 7" x 9" piece of red cardstock at 4" from one edge and fold to form card.
  2. Edge a 3 3/4" x 6 3/4" piece of Black and White dotted paper with a black marker and tape to the left flap of the card.
  3. Edge a 1" x 6 3/4" piece of Black and White dotted paper with a black marker and tape to the inside right edge of the card.
  4. Mat a 2" x 3 3/4" piece of red on a 2 1/4" x 3 3/4" white cardstock, and a 1" x 2" piece of red on a 1" x 2 1/4" piece of white, attach across the dotted papers.
  5. Adhere a 2" x 5 1/2" piece of Double-sided Mounting Paper to a red mat 2 1/4" x 5 3/4".
  6. Soap the back of the hearts stencil and use a 1/2" stencil brush to clean any flakes of the surface and out of the openings.
  7. Remove the release paper from the mounting paper and place the stencil, soap side down, on the sticky surface, use a piece of release paper to press the stencil firmly to the mounting paper.
  8. Sprinkle the red micro glitter in all the hearts and rub in gently, brush away all extra.
  9. Turn the image face down on a clean paper towel and carefully peel the paper off the stencil, making sure to keep the stencil flat on the table.
  10. Sprinkle the background with Crystal micro glitter and rub in, tap off excess.
  11. Tape the glittered hearts layer on a 2 1/2" x 6" piece of white cardstock.
  12. Use foam tape to add the image to the front of the card.
  13. Add the three white Candis to the right edge of the card.
